Composted New Forest Bracken

Our Composted New Forest Bracken is 100% Organic Matter, safe to use for all garden plants. Use as a peat alternative. Helps to break down heavy soils and aids moisture retention on light sandy soils. Composted New Forest bracken has an average PH of 5.5 to 6, which is ideal for Rhododendrons, Azaleas, Maples and all ericaceous plants.

Bracken - An Alternative to Peat
In an effort to reduce the amount of peat obtained from the British countryside, many alternatives are being used e.g. coconut fiber (coir).

Mulching
Bracken fonds die back each and the accumulated debris forms a deep litter layer which suppresses all other plants. This natural mulching property can be utilised in the garden to reduce time consuming weeding and the use of herbicides.

Soil Conditioner/Growing Medium
The physical structure and chemical composition make bracken an ideal component for compost. Naturally acidic, Composted New Forest Bracken is ideal for Rhododendrons, Azaleas and many other species.
